Aid Programs Available at Embry-Riddle
Embry-Riddle participates in a variety of award programs that are
offered through federal, state, institutional, and private sources.

FEDERAL PROGRAMS
There are several federal programs available for U.S. citizens or
permanent residents who are enrolled at least half-time in a degree
program, making satisfactory academic progress, and not in default
or owing a return repayment on a grant or loan. The following programs
are available to eligible Embry-Riddle students:
Federal Pell Grant
The Federal Pell Grant does not have to be repaid. The grant amounts
range from $400 to $4,310 depending on the estimated family contribution.
Federal Academic Competitiveness Grant (ACG)
Awarded to students who are eligible for the Federal Pell Grant.
Must be a United States citizen, in an eligible degree program,
and have completed a rigorous secondary school program of study.
The grant is only available for the first and second years of post
secondary studies. Award for the first year is $750 and for the
second year is $1300.
National Science and Mathematics Access to Retain Talent
Grant (SMART)
Awarded to students who are eligible for the Federal Pell Grant.
Student must be a United States citizen, pursuing a major in computer
sciences, engineering, technology, or mathematics. The grant is
only available for the third and fourth years of post secondary
studies, and have at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA. The award is up
to $4000 for each of the third and fourth academic years.
Federal Family Education Stafford Loan Program
(subsidized and unsubsidized)
All Federal Stafford Loans are either subsidized (the government
pays the interest while you're in school) or unsubsidized (you pay
all the interest, although the payments can be deferred until after
graduation). To receive a subsidized Federal Stafford Loan, you
must be able to demonstrate financial need. Students who are borrowing
for the first time through the Federal Stafford Loan Program (subsidized
and/or unsubsidized) must complete a Federal
Stafford Master Promissory Note online (MPN) in order
to receive their Federal Stafford Loan funds.
Federal Family Education Parent Loan for Undergraduate Students
(PLUS)
The amount borrowed each year can be up to the college cost of attendance
less other financial aid. Parents can also borrow to help their
children pay for college costs. These Federal Parent Loans for Undergraduate
Students (PLUS) have attractive interest rates. Payments start two
months after the loan is fully disbursed. Parent loans are not based

Federal Graduate PLUS Loan
The amount borrowed each year can be up to the college cost of attendance
less other financial aid. The Federal Graduate PLUS loans have attractive
interest rates. Payments start two months after the loan is fully
disbursed and Graduate PLUS loans are not based on financial need.

Federal Work Study
Students can earn up to approximately $3,200 per year working about
25 hours per week. More information about working on campus can

Federal Veterans Educational Benefits
Many Embry-Riddle students have earned and accumulated monthly educational
benefits while serving in the armed forces. More information is

Veterans Affairs Office.

STATE PROGRAMS
Arizona, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, Michigan, Pennsylvania,
Rhode Island, and Vermont provide financial assistance programs.
Arizona Leveraging Educational Assistance Partnership (LEAP)
This award is for students at Embry-Riddle's Prescott campus, and
can range from $100 to $750 per year.
Arizona Private Postsecondary Education Student
Financial Assistance Program (PFAP)
Up to $1,500 annually for an Associate's Degree graduate from a
Community College in Arizona who transfers as a full-time undergraduate
student to a four-year private institution within the state. Contact
the Prescott
Campus Financial Aid Office prior to June 30.

EMBRY-RIDDLE AERONAUTICAL UNIVERSITY
INSTITUTIONAL PROGRAMS
Embry-Riddle Student Employment
Students can earn approximately $3,200 per year working about 25
hours per week. Learn more about working

Embry-Riddle Endowed Scholarships
Students are considered individually for various Embry-Riddle endowed
scholarships. Scholarships are based on various criteria including
some or all of the following: financial need, academic merit, leadership,
outstanding accomplishments, and other considerations. Scholarship
amounts typically range from $500 to $4,000 per year.
Embry-Riddle Renewable Scholarships and Grants
Incoming, first-year and transfer students are considered for renewable
Embry-Riddle scholarships and grants based on need and/or merit.
All Embry-Riddle scholarships require a 3.0 CGPA for renewal. Embry-Riddle
grants require a 2.0 CGPA for renewal.
Embry-Riddle Family Grant
Embry-Riddle offers a grant when siblings are simultaneously enrolled
as full-time residential campus students. The Family Grant award
amount is approximately $2200 per year per sibling. Please contact
the Financial Aid Office if you feel that you qualify for this program.
Embry-Riddle ROTC Assurance
Effective for the 2006-07 year, all new students who are awarded
an ROTC Scholarship will receive a minimum assurance of $7000 in
University funding from all sources (scholarships and grants). University
funding, in combination with funding from ROTC, cannot exceed the
cost of education. University funding includes any University scholarships,
need-based grants, and awards.
Embry-Riddle Athletic Awards
Awards are determined by the Athletic Department for several mens
and womens sports, and amounts are up to full tuition.
