ERAU Athletics
NAIA Region II Intercollegiate Athletics
At the Prescott campus of Embry-Riddle, we offer the opportunity
for student athletes to pursue their academic dreams while competing
in intercollegiate athletics. Part of the Far West Region of NAIA,
we support the core values of NAIA’s Champions of Character
program: respect, responsibility, integrity, servant leadership
and sportsmanship. Through the hard work and dedication of our student-athletes,
coaches and administrators, the success of our growing athletics
programs is evident with 29 All-Americans, 7 National Champions,
a National Team Sportsmanship Award and most importantly, 27 All-American
Scholar Athletes.
Women’s Volleyball
Known as the Lady Eagles, the Prescott women's volleyball 2007 team
has earned recognition as a top 10 team within the NAIA Region II
weekly ranking. Because of their enthusiasm and commitment to excellence,
the 2007 team achieved the best record in school history.
Men’s Wrestling
The Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University wrestling team placed 2nd
at the 2007 NAIA National Wrestling Championships. Individually,
the Eagles return three NAIA All-Americans, two top ten National
Tournament athletes, and one National Champion. The team also placed
3rd at the 2007 National Duals. The team’s pursuit of excellence
carries over into the classroom, with three Academic All-Americans
and an overall team GPA of 3.09.
Men’s Soccer
In 2008, ERAU Eagle Soccer will complete its fifth full year of competition. Head Coach, Jim Barlow’s intent is to keep building the program with a high standard of play, high ethical foundation and academic excellence, with the goal of being ranked top ten year in and year out. We are fully outfitted with great fields, training rooms, weight rooms and academic support. We play a very competitive schedule that has us facing many of the traditional NAIA soccer powers (we play the National #1, #2, #5 and #12). Our athletes are competitive in both the academic (we had eight Academic All-Americans and received our third Team Academic Award GPA 3.37) and athletic venues (we finished 11-7-0 in 2007, the best record to date); therefore, we will seek enthusiastic, hard working, skilled student-athletes, who possess strong character to help move our program forward.
Women’s Soccer
The women’s soccer program, also new to Embry-Riddle, gives
women the chance to pursue excellence beyond the classroom and into
the playing field. Through participation in the program, athletes
develop sportsmanship, leadership, and perseverance – qualities
that serve them well in any future endeavor they choose to follow.
Scholarships are available for student athletes
with a demonstrated commitment to athletics, academics, and characters.
